The core body temperature of children rises much faster than adults. This occurs due to a higher metabolic rate per body mass, limited circulatory adaptation to increased cardiac demands and the inability to regulate body temperature by sweating.
When using your sauna with a child, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
A general rule of thumb is 1 minute inside your sauna per year of age for the child, but always accompanied by an adult. And remember to keep you and your children hydrated, even if you don’t see them sweating.
Please consult with your physician, as this answer is usually yes, but may be no depending upon you specific circumstances.
Clothing must be worn at all times during your sauna at MBL. Men typically wear workout or swim trunks; women typically wear workout shorts and a tank top or sports bra.
It is completely up to you and your lifestyle. There is no data showing more of a benefit in the morning or evening.
Most people partake in a 30-45 minute session, 3 -4 times a week, but it is safe to use every day and at whatever heat suits you best.
All of our health benefits have been either clinically shown on our heaters or are based on studies of infrared wavelengths that we precisely mimic in our heaters.
Sunlighten saunas are proven up to 99% effective at emitting the highest quality and quantity of infrared heat required for delivery a full range of health benefits.
Infrared Heat is completely safe and healthy for all living things. You can be exposed to infrared light for hours without the risk of burning. Infrared is a naturally occurring output of the sun, but does not contain the harmful UV rays associated with unprotected sunlight. In fact, infrared heat is so safe, it is used in hospitals to warm newborn infants
Infrared heat is very gentle. The experience is similar to lying in the sun on a warm day and feeling the heat radiate to the core of your body.
Unlike traditional (hot rock or steam) saunas–which operate at well in excess of 94°C–infrared heat has the benefit of being effective at a more comfortable operating temperature of 37.7°-65.5°C.
Traditional saunas heat the air vs. the body directly.
Rather than inducing detoxification and relaxation, this can make the experience unbearably hot and difficult to breathe. Because infrared heat penetrates human tissue vs. simply heating the surface of the skin, infrared saunas are seven times more effective than traditional saunas at detoxifying the body.
By raising the body’s core temperature, infrared saunas can produce a sweat composed of 20% toxins vs. only 3% toxins with a traditional sauna.
Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drugs effect when the body is exposed to infrared waves or elevated body temperature. Diuretics, barbiturates and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat loss mechanisms.
Anticholinergics such as amitryptaline may inhibit sweating and can predispose individuals to heat rash or to a lesser extent, heat stroke. Some over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.
The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature.
When using with the elderly, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time.
EMF (electric and magnetic fields) are waves of electric and magnetic energy radiating through space. High EMF levels are often associated with power lines.
EMF is everywhere in our homes and offices. The electrical appliances we use (an electric can opener at close range emits substantial EMFs), computers, monitors, keyboards and mice, wireless modems, cordless phones, clock radios, hair dryers, mobile phones, microwave ovens and more – all produce EMFs.
Although the current scientific evidence provides no definitive answers regarding EMF, there is enough uncertainty that some people want to reduce their exposure to EMF. For that reason, we have limited the levels of EMF from our heaters as much as possible.
If you are concerned at all about EMF, our Signature and Solo contain our Ultra Low EMF Solocarbon heaters.
Our exclusive manufacturing process allows us to cancel out EMF to levels that are virtually undetectable
WBC is an alternative to cold water immersion or ice packs. This treatment consists of exposing individuals to extremely cold, dry air (below -110C) for up to three minutes in a climate controlled cryochamber.
The chamber is designed for two person use and is popular with groups of athletes or couples. During these exposures, individuals wear minimal clothing to maximise skin exposure.
Whole-Body Cryotherapy was initially intended for use in a clinical setting to treat patients with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, chronic inflammation and multiple sclerosis, and although WBC is provided in over fifty European hospitals and medical clinics, it has now been implemented in many private clinics, health spas and athletic training facilities in the Western countries.
The scope of WBC application has widened greatly and people young and old are using WBC to rejuvenate their bodies and minds.
Yes, WBC chambers are very safe and have been used for three decades without severe adverse reactions being recorded. The skin, hair and undergarments must be dry. Avoid swimming, showering and exercising immediately prior to a cryotherapy session.
Mindbody Lounge’s WBC chamber is cooled by nitrogen, but there is no direct exposure to nitrogen in the chamber. Clients simply breathe normal room air which has been cooled. A mask is provided to ensure the air is warm around the mouth and no discomfort is caused.
Our WBC chamber is equipped with multiple monitors to ensure all aspects of the cryotherapy process are as they should be.
There is an emergency stop button and an emergency exit door in case there is ever an emergency or evacuation required.
All sessions are supervised by an instructor who explains the procedure to the clients before they enter, and monitors the session from start to finish.
The Mindbody Lounge provides every client with a robe, socks, slippers, and gloves for the purpose of protecting your extremities during treatment. Men are required to wear their own underwear or shorts.
All clients must remove jewellery and exterior body piercings below the neck. Additionally, clients should not apply oils, lotions, or cologne prior to treatment.
The WBC session is 10 minutes in total with 3 of those minutes in the WBC room stimulating your body and mind.
Those who are/have:
WBC stimulates the body to release endorphins, the hormones that make us feel alert and energetic.
The buoyant effects from each session typically last six to eight hours. Many clients report improvements in their sleep quality after cryotherapy
WBC is generally tolerated very well and has minimal risks:
Fluctuations in blood pressure during the procedure by up to 10 points systolically (this effect reverses after the procedure, as peripheral circulation returns to normal), allergic reaction to the extreme cold (rare), minor redness, and skin burns (only if exposed to temperatures longer than recommended or skin is wet prior to entry).
Magnetism, Oxygen and Light Therapy – in that order.
The PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields) magnetic mat helps to recharge your body at a cellular level.
Oxygen is next with the EWOT (Exercise With Oxygen Training) bike and mask, delivering 93% pure Oxygen as you exercise.
Finally, Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT), is skin therapy that promotes tissue repair, reduces inflammation and reduces pain. It is like a phone charger for the body.
Ballancer Pro is the result of many decades of medical research and offers a unique Pre-Therapy cycle, a massage for the lymph vessels and lymph nodes in the proximal areas near the core of the body. Having drained the lymph nodes of fluid the compression then moves further down the extremities, providing a relieving massage.
In order to overcome the brutal effects of stress, you need to get out of the fight-or-flight response and into the relaxation response.
The relaxation response can’t happen as long as you generate primarily high beta brainwave activity. Your brainwave activity must dip into alpha, the intuitive mind, or theta, the inventive mind.
Many believe that theta is the optimum state for creativity and that it’s the only mode in which one can make a quantum leap in consciousness.
Unfortunately, theta mode is difficult to maintain. This is where the frequency following response generated through the BrainTap headset comes in; it keeps your brain engaged.
By using the BrainTap headset, your brain is being trained to generate more alpha and theta waves and fewer beta waves.
Absolutely. The only known side effects are improved memory, great sleep, focus, concentration, and reduced stress.
However, flashing lights have been known to cause problems in people who suffer from serious medical conditions like epilepsy, seizure disorders, brain injury, or photosensitivity.
If you have any of these concerns, you should ask your medical professional if light and sound technology is right for you.
Generally speaking, any person can achieve alpha/theta brainwave states and can benefit from BrainTap Technology.
However, the sessions are recommended for persons with a healthy brain. Persons with severe mental disorders should not use the BrainTap Headset. Flashing lights have been known to trigger seizures in certain cases.
While this disorder is rare, people who have a seizure disorder of any kind should not use the lights in the visor. These people can still benefit without the lights. If you are unsure, ask your doctor before proceeding.
